*1 As you know, it's a Cony, a tiny cute mammal. In Japan, we can see them only in Hidaka mountains area in Hokkaido, but we could see them at Rocky Mountain National Park and Grand Teton National Park. Once I read in a book that their territories are very strict so it's very unusual to see several pikas at a time, but we saw a dozen of pikas at Rocky Mountain NP. Three pikas in a binocular!
*2 It was a cold winter day. We stayed in Tateshina during the Christmas vacation. After heavy snow, while taking a walk, we happened to see a cute Coal Tit was bathing very close, about 2 yards from us. Suddenly we fell in LOVE with him/her.
Our fields are mainly Tateshina, Karuizawa and Tokyo and its vicinities. My husband, Marmot, is 'in charge of Recording' and I am in charge of Taking snaps & Carrying the heavy telescope. (To tell the truth, our telescope is the lightest one.)
