October 23-25 : Tateshina and its vicinities (Nagano) Sunny, cloudy and rain,

--- The most beautiful autumn colors we've ever seen in Tateshina....!
My husband sometime works on holidays. And Friday, October 23, was a compensatory day off, and it was very lucky for us: sunny on Friday and cloudy on Saturday. So we walked and went for a drive: from Tateshina to Okaya-city. Soooooo beautiful autumn colors! We've never seen such beautiful colors around here. It was a forward foliage season than usual, we felt, and that was the reasong we can enjoy it. Next week, we are going to visit Kabukuri-numa, as we do every year...not every year but often. I just want to show you the beautiful photograph of autumn leaves :) Enjoy! 1)"Cherry tree", 2)"Yokoya-keikoku valley", 3)"Hananoki(maple tree)", 4)"fall foliage 1", 5)"fall foliage 2". And they went away so quickly....

--- Ficedula mugimaki !!
Around this time every year, people gather to see Mugimaki Flycatcher. We can see them in our neighbors, only in October, fall migrating season. And we know it is a littler earlier...but we can't come a weel later. And as we feared(exaggerate!), we saw numbers of bird watchers but no one who saw Mugimaki Flycatcher. We walked around the park and returned the place where we saw Mugimaki for the first time in Togakushi. Good memories attracted us. And...yes, we did it. Very short time, far away and among the leafy branches, we saw the orangish chest. But, but but but...we want to see more... We are asking too much? I don't think so.
Birds we saw/confirmed were White-backed Woodpecker, Great Spotted Woodpecker, Treecreeper, Brambling, Wren and so on. We enjoyed seeing beautiful blue and pink fruits.

---Autumn migrating season has come.
In the park at dusk, we waited and finally found small shiny thing:, and it was the bird we have been waiting . Yes, it was a Gray-spotted Flycatcher!
July 4-5: Tateshina and its vicinities (Nagano), Temp in Hara Village: High 76.1, Low 56.5 (F)
We received a good harvest of berries...all of them, 600g, turned into jam!
After marmot got home, we started for Tateshina. It was later than usual and surprised to see how crowded the chuo-expressway was. It was because of the reduced rate of holidays. Anyway, we almost failed to get our supper... It was lucky of us that we could eat one rice ball each, at the convenience store in Ishikawa PA. We fully realized "the terror of the reduction rate".
Anyway, we reached our house safely, and had good sleep in cooler place than Tokyo. We seeked cooler air and go up to the higher place. Birds were still singing there. And in our backyard, there was a family of Brown Thrush. So cute fledgling!! Mooching, but, failed?? Grow up safely to your full size!
